I regularly visit schools and festivals to conduct writing workshops and talks on story ideas, characters, plotting and more. Talks are tailored for audiences of all sizes and are suitable for Year 3-6.
“Thank you for such a great day. The girls and teachers thoroughly enjoyed your sessions, it was wonderful to hear them speak so positively about the tips and drafting skills you shared.” St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School
I had the great pleasure to be able to organise an Author’s week at our school last term. Julie was one of the fabulous authors I invited to address some of our classes. I received more positive feedback from students and their parents about Julie than about any other author. She inspired students to write and captured their imagination with stories about her real life experiences. I have worked with Julie on a number of occasions over the past couple of years, and I continue to invite her back to speak at both school and district events.” Lorraine Clacher, Ascot State School

Here’s some feedback from the amazingly talented students at a recent Mini Writers’ Festival:
“I really enjoyed meeting Julie Fison again. She inspired me to finish writing the story that I have started. She shared her stories which showed me how my experiences can lead into a book.” Jessica
“I loved learning all the techniques and learning how to prepare yourself to write an exciting story. I loved the inspiration that Julie gave us.” Mary
“I thought that it was fun learning new things about writing. I liked how Julie Fison told us to start with action because it made my writing more interesting.” Thomas

Hi Julie
Please let me know when you are having your next workshop as I’d love to attending.
Thanks Michelle.
My workshops are arranged by schools, so sadly they aren’t open to the public. But your local library might have an author visit planned so you could try there. Good luck. Julie
You were at my school today and the workshops were really interesting! Especially the giant Reptilian Orangutang (you should turn that into a book LOL) anyway for people interested at having her at the school she is really awesome! (I was the person in the last session who showed you a picture of my cartooned birds)

Thanks! I loved visiting RGGS as well as RGS and Emerald North. Your enthusiasm was wonderful and I hope to see your stories in print some time soon!

Thanks so much KTL. I tend to do school visits in Queensland, but hope to meet you if I get down your way. Julie x
